![]() The first aspect of the camp that hits you is how beautiful and majestic it is. But of course the real excitement begins once you arrive at the camp and a grand arrival it is, including a ride via camel cart up to the front gate. The nearby village of Osian was also interesting as it housed a very large, old and beautiful Hindu temple and its clearly not a place that is normally visited by tourists. Even the trip out to the camp was exciting as our driver spotted a pack of Black Buck Antelope off in the distance (which we would have NEVER seen on our own) and literally went off road four wheeling so we could get a better look and take some great photos. In fact our trip was arranged through our heritage hotel in Jodhpur, the Ratan Vilas, which I will also highly recommend. To begin the Camel Camp is only an hour or so from Jodhpur so it is easily accessiblem which was a main reason why we initially considered it as we simply did not have enough time to make it to Jaisalmer. ) I can not recommend it highly enough, from the cultural experience to the first rate facilities, to the top notch food to the absolutely impeccible service. ![]() Don't worry though, no animals were harmed during our stay. Not only did it give us a glimpse of the desert world that I have never seen before, but it also provided us with a sense of the old majestic Indian camel or hunting safaris from a by-gone era. It was definitely one of the top highlights of both the region as well as of our entire trip to India. I recently stayed at Reggie Singh's Camel Camp with friends while traveling through Rajasthan.
